What is the program about?
The Calgary Resilient Roofing Rebate program is aimed at educating Calgarians on the benefits of resilient roofing materials and to support them in building a more resilient city against environmental risks.
The City of Calgary offers a $3,000 rebate for homeowners who participate in this program
Who is eligible?
All eligible homeowners in Calgary who have recently replaced or plan to replace their roof with Class 4 impact-resistant products after June 1, 2021. Proof of hail damage is not be required.
Eligibility requirements:
- Single-family, semi-detached or duplex home.
- Good standing on my property tax roll.
- Replaced or plan to replace their roof with Class 4 rated roofing system
- Used or will use a contractor who is a member of the Alberta Allied Roofing Association (AARA)* or Alberta Roofing Contractors Association (ARCA)
*Calgary Elite Roofing is a long-standing member of the AARA
What is a Class 4 impact-resistant roof?
A Class 4 rating, which is the highest rating for impact resistance, a roofing shingle must withstand having a 2-inch steel ball dropped multiple times from a height of 20 feet.
This was standardized across North America as the UL2218 (Underwriters Laboratories Inc.) or FM4473 (Factory Mutual Approvals )
